Troop News April 2024

Happy Spring Troop 29 and Friends!  We have a busy few months ahead of us with some fun Scouting Trips and Summer Camp coming up.

This past weekend we had planned to camp out in back of St. John’s Church, however it ended up being a very cold and rainy day.  We started outside and worked on rank advancement for a couple of hours before moving inside to warm up a bit and get out of the rain.   We still did our cooking outside under a few popup shelters (more to come on those).  We spent the afternoon continuing to work on advancement and enjoy some Scout comradery.  After dinner we set up a movie in the upstairs community room and watched the new Wonka movie.  We set up our sleeping quarters in the bottom floor classrooms, staying warm and dry.  Unfortunately, it got very windy overnight.  We woke up to find our popup shelters in the woods with 3 of the 4 being pretty badly damaged.  Time to sell more popcorn...

Tonight, we celebrated the Troop's hard work with a spring Court of Honor.  We recognized many of our Scouts who completed merit badges recently in Coding, Nuclear Science, Cooking, and several more.  Overall there were 16 Merit Badges earned!  We also had several of our Scouts earn their next badge of rank.  Congratulations to all of the Scouts, but especially the following for ranking up.

Julian P – Scout, Levi H – Tenderfoot, David M and Timothy W – 2nd Class, Lucca S – 1st Class
